Jupiter, with Ganymede & Lo by Damian Peach
The Milky Way at MangaiaOePan by Ttezel
Vela Supernova Remnant by Marco Lorenzi .
I have been following the Astronomy Photographer Of The Year competition with great interest. I'm amazed that technology has advanced so far, that even teenagers as young as 15 have the capabilities to photograph stars trailing around the North Star, and high quality pictures of our moon. source
The competition has now been opened as an exhibition at Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London and showcases all of the competition winners from 2011.
If you can't get to London, the BBC has provided a great slideshow with some commentary from the judges here and flickr has a dedicated group of entries.
